I have made it my life’s work to hone my skills as a relationally-oriented somatic therapist. Many people who choose to work with me have a history of complex trauma. My work is integrative and deeply personalized. I do not fit the client to the modality, but rather collaborate with each individual to discover how to best meet them in their unique needs moment to moment.
As a somatic psychotherapist and trauma touchwork provider, all of my work is experiential in nature, where I weave together bottom-up and top-down understanding for lasting healing of the mind, body and heart.
In addition to my clinical work, I am passionate about supporting, teaching and mentoring other practitioners. My teaching goes beyond training particular techniques and skills to support new and experienced helping professionals to go inward to discover their own gifts and strategies that both support and hinder their capacities to excel in their work.
Curiosity, play, and compassion are at the heart of my approach, whether I am sitting with a trauma survivor or teaching a roomful of students.

Most people who seek my help have tried talk therapy in the past and are now looking for a more body–mind approach. While talk therapy has been helpful, many reach a standstill or feel stuck without meaningful change. I often work with individuals who have complex or developmental trauma histories, as well as those experiencing anxiety, depression, or a recent loss. I also support younger clients navigating major life decisions or transitions, and I have a particular specialty in working with those in recovery from substance use or eating disorders. With extensive experience in substance use and dual diagnosis, I bring both knowledge and understanding of the recovery process.
As a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, many people seek me out for somatic-based therapy to address overwhelming events such as accidents or surgeries, or to process more layered relational or developmental trauma. I feel honored to engage in this deep work and value the meaningful connections it creates. My path has always leaned toward non-traditional approaches—I began graduate training in Art Psychotherapy, which continues to shape my professional identity today.
At the core of my practice is the belief that we are designed to heal and grow. I trust in the body’s natural movement toward health, inspired by what I have observed in both people and nature. This life force can become blocked, but it can also be nurtured back into flow. In our work, I integrate dialogue, collaboration, movement, expressive arts, and at times touch, weaving together both “Bottom-Up” (body) and “Top-Down” (mind) approaches to support embodied healing.

I strive to always be genuine and create an atmosphere where clients can feel comfortable and quickly at ease. My clients often tell me that they appreciate my sense of humor and my ability to be down-to-earth and practical. I believe that laughter is essential to healing, and I strive to create an environment where my clients feel safe enough to laugh, even in the midst of difficult emotions. By working together in a trusting, supportive relationship, we can navigate life’s challenges with greater ease.
When I’m not counseling, I am keeping up with my vegetable garden, spending time with my family, and seeing live comedy and music. I also love brunch, the Buffalo Bills, and being a part of the local theater community.

True joy comes from a place of wholeness. We can tell when we don’t feel whole, and when we don’t feel we belong to ourselves.
Our bodies hold truth. Our brain, nervous system, and chemical messengers—like neurotransmitters and hormones—shape our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. They regulate mood, motivation, and our sensitivity to pleasure or pain. When we experience stress, especially prolonged or extreme stress, the nervous system—a brilliant survival mechanism—can store those experiences in ways that feel stuck or unprocessed. You might find yourself thinking, “I shouldn’t feel this way,” or reacting in ways that don’t make sense, yet the anxiety, anger, depression, shame, or grief persists. These feelings are not obstacles to fight or ignore—they are messengers, offering clues and invitations to heal, integrate, and reclaim your authentic self.
My role is to walk alongside you, creating a safe space where healing can unfold naturally. When given the right resources, our body, spirit, and emotions know how to mend. My approach begins with supporting you in stabilizing your current situation, then gently reprocessing past experiences that contribute to present struggles, and finally integrating this work into a future where you feel empowered and whole—not just managing symptoms, but addressing their roots.
I earned my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2022, but my path to therapy began 20 years earlier as a clinical massage therapist (LMT). Witnessing the interplay of physical and emotional pain, I sought deep training in historical and cultural healing modalities—rituals and bodywork that honor the whole person, their family, and their community. This foundation fuels my passion for the relationship between the body, trauma, and health, including issues like medical trauma, pain, chronic illness, anxiety, depression, addiction, grief and emotional dysregulation. Clients tend to find me when old coping strategies are faltering, unresolved experiences start to surface, they are facing fight/flight/freeze states, dissociation, or simply a deep longing to feel at home in themselves.
In my down-time, I love adventures, hiking, exploring nature, meditating, traveling to distant lands, experiencing food from all kinds of cultures, learning something new, live music, playing the piano, ballroom dancing and hammocking (preferably with family and listening to waves!)

No matter the many waves or challenges life may bring, I strive to offer a safe and affirming space where you can feel seen and heard. My work is rooted in the belief that our bodies hold profound wisdom and that healing comes from understanding and integrating all aspects of ourselves. Together, we will uncover the underlying patterns that may be holding you back and develop empowering strategies to cultivate resilience and growth.
I believe in everyone’s capacity to heal and meet all the parts of ourselves with greater compassion and curiosity. There is no greater honor than getting to support clients in returning home to themselves to live more present, authentic, and embodied lives. I feel forever inspired by the sacredness of this work.

I am a graduate student and counseling intern specializing in nature-based and somatic approaches to healing. My work integrates body-based practices, mindfulness, and the restorative power of the natural world, with the belief that each person holds an innate capacity to heal. I strive to create a grounded, compassionate space where therapy becomes a collaborative process that honors both body and mind.
With a background in wilderness therapy and certifications in mindfulness and outdoor mindfulness leadership, I bring experience in guiding workshops and nature-based practices throughout Richmond. In my work with youth, teens, and adults, I blend talk therapy with movement, mindfulness, and sensory experiences in nature to support emotional resilience, self-awareness, and stress regulation. Whether through mindful walking, gentle movement, or stillness in nature, sessions are designed to help clients reconnect with themselves and what matters most.

I am passionate about helping others connect more to themselves, others, the community and the world around them. The focus of my therapy training has been in understanding the impact of trauma on the mind and body, processing events through EMDR and somatic therapy, mindfulness and emotion regulation, as well as identity work. My social work career started in homeless shelters working as a care manager with the unhoused population, where I got to walk alongside powerful and creative advocates who continue to inspire me now. After completing my Masters in Social Work, I worked as an advocate for survivors of human trafficking and domestic violence and then transitioned into work as a therapist.
When I am not working as a therapist, I am typically out walking my dog, getting excited about trying new foods, planning and going on long distance hiking trips and listening to NPR.

My practice is inspired by the art of passionate embodiment. As an instructor, I lead clients inward to discover the buried aliveness that lives beyond pain and resistance. I intend to help my clients live life as their authentic selves. My classes utilize breathwork and trauma-informed yoga modalities to help clients feel safe and present in their bodies. Everything is optional. Everything is your choice. Only you can know what is best for your body, and I strive to remind clients to own that truth. In my experience, it is from a deep sense of inner safety that real magic flows into life. Feeling safe in mind, body, and spirit allows us to navigate through our pain and align with the strength of knowing ourselves. What we feel, we can heal, and it is my honor to guide others upon the journey towards their deepest self-expression.

Creating a life that is aligned with who you are and what you value is at the heart of resolving those challenges. I work with a holistic, trauma sensitive lens. Recognizing the mental, somatic, spiritual and emotional components of each client’s unique situation. In my experience full resolution touches each of these dimensions of our humanity. My coaching draws upon my knowledge, skills and experience gathered over the last 30 years as both a licensed clinical social worker and spiritual and transformational guide. I retired my clinical license in 2021 to offer 1:1 and group services that were most aligned with who I am and what I value.
